Therapeutic Programming and Activities (CYWK 1009)
Students develop a needs based plan, and implement and evaluate evidence-informed therapeutic activities, including eco-relational practice. Emphasis is placed on relational practice, developmental needs, culture and diversity and fostering a therapeutic milieu. By teaching life skills and enhancing pro-social behaviour, students learn to foster resilience in children and youth who face a variety of challenges in various settings and contexts. Students examine school, residential, and community based programming to develop interventions that engage and promote children, youth and family development.
