Oral Histology and Embryology (DENT 1019)

Students learn about the normal development of the oral cavity and facial complex, including the influence diseases has on this process. Students explore the histological background of the development of bone, cartilage, teeth, oral mucosa, tongue, temporomandibular joint, periodontium, and salivary glands. This knowledge provides the foundation for further study of developmental disturbances and histological changes in oral diseases.
