Environmental Geology (ODE) (GEOL 1001)

This course examines the exciting and dramatic interactions between Geology and the surrounding environment. Geologic events, such as volcanoes, tsunami, earthquakes, landslides and avalanches, are considered with a particular approach to their impact on humans. Human responses to these hazards and disasters are examined with an eye towards the future. The relationships between human activity and geology are studied in terms of the impact of both on each other.
