FITCO - Fitness Test for Ontario Correctional Officer Applicants (JUST 0059)
This course provides an opportunity for Correctional Officer applicants to receive certification for the Ministry of Community Safety and Correctional Services Occupational Fitness Test (FITCO). This is a requirement in the recruitment process for Correctional Officers with the Ministry. Participants become familiar with and practise FITCO protocols. FITCO is comprised of a Search Station, an Emergency Response Circuit and the Leger Shuttle Run. Participants must bring the completed Correctional Services Recruitment Unit issued “FITCO Informed Consent and Release” , “PAR-Q” , “Participant Performance Declaration” and if necessary the PARmedX forms. Participants who successfully complete the FITCO will receive certification valid for one year.
