Entrepreneurship Legal Issues (LAWS 1011)
In this course, students explore legal issues arising in the formation and operation of a small business, with special emphasis on procedure and requisite government documentation necessary to start up and maintain a small business in Ontario. Major topics include business styles (sole proprietorship, partnership and incorporation), contract law, tort law, employment law, consumer protection (including the Sale of Goods Act), insurance law, intellectual property, privacy compliance, and related provincial and federal legislation.
