Honours Research Seminar (POLC 4016)

This is an Honours-level seminar course devoted to exploring, from a critical and theoretical perspective, the nature of policing, crime, and criminal justice. In this course students focus on individual research topics. Students are required to attend a weekly seminar at which various issues associated with the linking of theory and method are examined and where students can both discuss their progress and share their research experiences. On completion, students orally defend their written thesis and must be able to develop their position(s) in relation to the intersections between policy, theory, development and implementation in their given area of research.
