PSW Laboratory Skills (PSWR 1036)
In this course, students focus on the principles of basic and advanced skills needed by the Personal Support Worker (PSW) to assist clients. Students integrate learned theory and skills while participating in experiential learning within a practice lab setting. Students learn concepts and principles related to infection control, hygiene, mobility, safety and nutrition, assessment, urinary catheters, ostomy care, oxygen therapy, wound care, vital signs, glucometers and insulin pens, medications, and suctioning.
