Introduction to Social Service Work (SSWK 1001)

This course introduces the continuum of social services available in our communities and the role of the professional social service worker in delivering these services. Representatives from community agencies will describe their services and detail the characteristics of the staff they employ. Students will discover the legal and ethical rights and responsibilities of the social services worker. Students will be encouraged to develop a fundamental belief in dignity, worth and potential of all people.
