Diversity and Multiculturalism in Canada (SSWK 2000)

Dimensions of diversity, including the intersectionality of culture, gender, age, race, ability, class, ethnicity, sexual orientation, religion, spirituality, and family, are examined within the context of social service delivery. Particular attention is given to aging populations and Indigenous Peoples of Canada. Students assess the systemic contexts of identity, and critically examine their own social locations. Students also review national and provincial human rights codes, and investigate systemic barriers facing vulnerable populations.
